Sunday & Another Day in Paradise

We had a fairly full and busy day today with lots of visitors.
Dad smoked the mullet he caught yesterday and they were out of the smokehouse just before Donelle and the kids came down the driveway! Talk about good timing. She was here for just a few hours - came to pick up some more meat from the freezer. Her friend and neighbour Yasmin and her 2 kids came as well. Yasmin was the licenced driver. The kids were really pleased to see us and we were happy to see them of course. And my carpet survived the visit!
Dad had just put out the fire in his smokehouse when Matthew arrived with 2 big eels he and Stu had caught at Clarks Bay. Matthew wanted Poppa to smoke them for him so the smokehouse was fired into action once again. It's the first time I've tasted smoked eel and it was delicious.
Dave came up with the cupboard doors from the other units for Dad to paint this week. I've actually put the food into the new pantry even though it hasn't got any doors.
Stephen also visited today as did Sheree and Angelena.
It was a nice sunny day here today in the winterless north and if you saw tonight's weather forecast on TV1 you would have seen that Dargaville had the high of 20.
